COVID-19 EVICTION UPDATES

The laws concerning eviction during the COVID-19 pandemic continue to change and vary from city to city. Tenants should not wait to seek help with eviction matters. It’s crucial to get help from a trusted legal aid attorney.

LA Housing & Community Investment Department – Information and resources regarding rental units governed by the rent stabilization ordinance (RSO) in the City of Los Angeles.

Is my rental unit under rent control? – To check if you live in a rent-stabilized building in the City of Los Angeles, enter the house number and street name and click the address list if prompted. Scroll down to the “Housing” tab to find out if the property is subject to rent control. Under the housing tab, the Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO) section will say, “Yes” or “No”.

To file a complaint with Los Angeles Housing and Community Investment Department (HCID) regarding illegal rent increases, click here.
